at&t Communications Manager

AIR CARD Commands:

While using the at&t Communications Manager and NOT CONNECTED.
Open the TOOLS MENU
Hold down the CTRL and SHIFT KEYS and then Press [F9]
This will add new tabs to the Diagnostics Menu.
Click on Tools,
Diagnostics,
GSM Info
then the Advance Tab to show the MCC, MNC, LAC and Cell ID.

Click on the AT Command Window.
Place these commands on the Command Line and Press:
[Get Command Response]
at!selrat=00 Auto Mode
at!selrat=01 3G Mode
at!selrat=02 2G Mode
at!selrat=03 3G Preferred

Sierra aircards

Whne using Sierra's Aircards and 3G Watcher, Sierra's Connection Program, you can get more information about the connecting cell.
Key in CTRL A and then enter ##DEBUG for the password.
Click on HELP then ABOUT for more Cell Information.

HTC All Models

To enable field test mode, enter<br>* # * # 3 6 4 # * # *<br>from Phone dialer then press <send>.

Larry Reeves: I found entering the code from the Dial Pad would not work when you have a call up. Found the file in the MyDevice\Windows folder called FieldTest and copied it to a more accessible folder and now I can run it while I have a call up. (04/30/08)

Option GT Max

Signal Strength is below the bars on the main screen.

VERIZON Access Manager

Once connected place your mouse cursor over the bottom signal reading (bars). A little window will pop up with a signal strength in –dBm.

T-Mobile DASH, HTC EXCALIBER, S620

Enter *#*#364#*#* and your phone will enter test mode.
Signal strength follows RSSI.
This test mode does not show –dB.
Strong signal is 31 (approximately -50dBm), weak signal is 4 (approximately -105dBm).
The higher the number (31 vs 4) the better the signal.
Press END or Done to exit.

Sprint Franklin CDU-550, Novatel U720

On the Sprint Software: Click Menu, Click Device Info & Diagnostics, Signal strength is on the line that says “Communication Mode” or “Signal Strength.”

Run application FieldTrial.exe located in WINDOWS folder.

Press MENU, select MONITOR, RSSI, -XX.
Test mode also tells frequency.
To exit, press the power button as the back button.
To force TDMA, press MENU.
Scroll to NETWORK. Scroll to USER SETTING.
Scroll to TDMA ONLY and press OK.
