Mailserver has not responded in 60 seconds
I use Outlook Express to read my e-mails. It allows me to forward emails which are text only, but if I try to send an email with a picture attachment or video, etc, it gives me the box saying that my mailserver has not responded for 60 seconds. Why is my mailserver at heartoftn.net not supporting my forwarding of emails with pics and etc??

The most common cause for this timeout is Anti-virus programs. When using Outlook or Outlook Express, your e-mail program thinks that it's sending the mail to the server, however the Anti-virus software grabs it, scans it, and it eventually connects to the server. You can try to temporarily turn off your Outbound virus checking and test it. I have run several test with a large file and got the same results. I turned off the outbound virus checking for my e-mail and the problem went away.Our email server checks all e-mails for viruses, so it should catch any infected file you are tiring to send. Support: If you are using Avast, right click on the Avast ball in the bottom right corner (System Tray) and choose On-Access at the top of the pop up menu. Then click on Internet Mail under Installed Providers. Then select Customize and the SMTP Tab. Unselect; Scan Outbound Mail. Then click OK back out of the program. (02/02/06)
